Market Trends and Economy 📊
According to J.P. Morgan, after 26 months of an inverted yield curve—where short-term bonds had higher yields than long-term ones—the spread between the 2-year and 10-year Treasury bonds has returned to a normal upward slope. This shift occurred as the Federal Reserve's recent interest rate cuts caused short-term yields to fall faster than long-term ones. While a normalized yield curve sometimes precedes a recession, J.P. Emerging Technology Review 📟
According to McKinsey, the U.S. labor market is undergoing significant changes driven by automation and generative AI, which could automate up to 30% of work hours by 2030. Sectors like office support, customer service, and food services are expected to decline, while demand will rise in healthcare, STEM, and green industries, supported by federal investment in climate and infrastructure. The report also projects that 12 million workers will need to transition to new roles by 2030, with a focus on re-skilling, especially for lower-wage workers and women. Employers will need to adopt innovative hiring practices to address these shifts and fill key roles.
Space Out 🪐

NASA’s Glenn Research Center will provide content, projects, and support to make this program a key resource for after-school STEM education.
